ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY 

 
IPC is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team in the fast-evolving clean energy landscape. The successful candidate qualified candidate will perform various general accounting functions and activities for IPC and its affiliated entities.  This position will report directly to the Controller and will support the entire accounting team. (Percentages are approximate estimations and may vary as needed.)
 

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)


 Financial Reporting and Reconciliation (40%)
  • Supporting the accounting team in reconciling accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. This includes reconciling various accounts such as cash, accounts, and loans receivable and their related allowances, fixed assets, and notes payable.
  • Performing review of monthly employee expense reports and reconciling corporate credit card accounts.
  • Regularly communicating progress and relevant updates to the accounting team.

General Ledger and Compliance (35%)
  • Assisting in preparing general ledger journal entries.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal accounting and operating procedures, as well as all state and federal regulations.

Year-End Close and Audit Support (15%)
  • Supporting the accounting team with year-end close and audits.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records for the main accounting books and supporting documents, ensuring a clear audit trail (e.g., bills, and receipts).

Professional Development and Organizational Support (10%)
  • Thoroughly completing and reporting on ad-hoc requests from the accounting team and/or IPC leadership.
  • Engaging in continuous learning about the latest industry trends, updates in accounting rules, and company policies.
  • Consistently demonstrating a commitment to the IPC's core values of care, teamwork, transparency, innovation, and excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS
 


Education & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field with a minimum of 3-5 years' of progressive experience in Accounting, Banking, Finance, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in public accounting, clean energy and/or financial services.
 
Skills:
IPC seeks candidates who exhibit both mission alignment and professional competency in the following areas: 
 
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and Compliance Requirements: Possessing a solid understanding of GAAP, is vital for ensuring financial statements' accuracy and compliance. Shows a strong commitment to maintaining organizational integrity and adherence to financial regulations and standards.
  • Advanced Expertise in Microsoft Excel: Featuring high-level proficiency in Excel, facilitating complex financial analyses, budgeting, and reporting tasks with efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software: Exhibited by adept use of essential tools for financial analysis, reporting, and data management, enhancing productivity and precision. Preferred experience with Oracle NetSuite, Salesforce, and loan servicing platforms.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions, demonstrating resilience and versatility in managing diverse tasks and projects.
  • Independent Initiative and Strong Work Ethic: Exhibiting the ability to progress with minimal supervision, motivated by a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Trustworthiness and Analytical Thinking: Known for integrity and a methodical approach to problem-solving, applying analytical skills to develop thoughtful, effective solutions.
  • Excellent Time Management and Organizational Skills: Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively, managing time efficiently while maintaining high standards of work in a dynamic environment.
  •  Exceptional Verbal and Written Communication Abilities: Enhancing the existing skill set with superior communication skills, is crucial for clear reporting, collaboration, and maintaining strong relationships across all levels of the organization and with outside parties.
