● Demonstrates clinical competence to practice within the Departmental Scope of Care.
● Manages day-to-day operations of assigned nursing unit ensuring decisions, actions, and group performance contributes to the achievement of the unit, department, and hospital's goals and mission.
● Communicates effectively with staff, peers, Clinical Coordinator, and external and internal customers.
● Utilizes quality improvement as the basis to improve unit/departmental processes.
● Maintains unit readiness for regulatory surveys.
● Coordinates the financial and clinical operations of assigned area(s) of responsibility and recommends a sufficient number of qualified competent persons to provide care. Participates in outside source selection for needed services.
● Integrates department services with the hospital’s primary function maintaining communication with medical and nursing staff, Administration, patients, and their families/significant others.
● Coordinates and integrates services within the department.
● Promotes the Quality Management program of the facility, maintaining appropriate quality control programs (where applicable) as well as providing recommendations for operational, clinical, and financial improvements.
● Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and reports necessary noncompliance to Surgical Services Director in real-time.
● Assures that orientation, in-service training, and continuing education are provided for persons in the department.
● Develops and participates in goals and objectives for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
● Ensures operational processes are efficient in meeting benchmark metrics
● Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with the entire medical staff.

License/ Certification:
● Registered Nurse - Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation
● Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
● Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 180 days of employment start date
● PALS must be obtained within 180 days of employment start date
Experience:
● Required: OR at a minimum or combined experience of Endoscopy and PACU together
● 5+ years of nursing with some leadership experience - will accept charge nurse or coordinator experience
● NO MINIMUM AMOUNT OF LEADERSHIP EXP REQUIRED
