Description
SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
● Responsible for technical administration and management of the Diagnostic section of the Radiology Department. This should include the daily assignment of technical staff, management of the patient flow, and managing staffing levels appropriate to patient volume.
● Assists Director and Asst. Director to ensure radiation safety guidelines and radiographic equipment safety is in compliance with the department.
● Assists Facility Systems Administrator, providing guidance and troubleshooting to technical staff regarding the PACS System. Assist with PACS clean up. ie: unarchived, unspecified images. Delete old images from the workstations, etc.
● Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner and always identifies patients utilizing proper protocol. Perform those radiological technical duties as deemed necessary.
● Oversee the imaging quality and technical accuracy of your immediate staff. Ensures the verification process is completed in a timely manner and maintains technical quality standards. Print status report to ensure adequate turnaround times for reports.
● Demonstrates leadership and support of management initiatives.
● Assists Assistant Director and Diagnostic Supervisor in completing and maintaining department educational requirements
● As a lead technologist, provides guidance and mentoring to staff technologists. Acts as Clinical Instructor for Radiography Students ensuring all educational requirements are in compliance with the affiliation agreement.
● Demonstrates willingness to assist in additional duties.
● Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
● Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients according to policy and procedure.
● Completes and maintains educational requirements.

Requirements
EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED: 1-year experience as Diagnostic Technologist, with progressive management experience.
Experience with PACS System operations.
NO LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
EDUCATION
REQUIRED: Graduate of AMA School of Radiologic Technology. Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT for licensure.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: (Required or Preferred)
Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technology
Preferred: American Society of Radiologic Technology
Preferred: Virginia Society of Radiologic Technology
Required: IV certification
Required: Current CPR certification
